What's the minimum viable version of this change that would tell you if it's working before full commitment?

Hastings navigated Change Bias more deliberately than almost any modern founder. When Netflix shifted from DVD-by-mail to streaming, he understood that his own enthusiasm for the change likely overestimated the speed of transition and underestimated customer attachment to the existing model. The Qwikster debacle — splitting the DVD and streaming businesses — was a case where Change Bias led to moving too fast.
