Multiplication

Multiplication is creating value that scales with more of the same input — each unit of effort or asset produces more than its cost, so total output grows faster than total input. Additive growth is linear; multiplicative growth comes from systems, leverage, and repeatability: one sales playbook that every rep uses, one product that serves many customers, one brand that multiplies trust. The goal in building and scaling is to find the levers that multiply — the thing that, when you do more of it or add more of it, yields disproportionately more result. Multiplication is the opposite of doing everything once by hand.

Identify what, if scaled, would multiply: a repeatable process, a product that serves many, a brand that lifts every interaction. Invest in making that thing systematic and reusable — playbooks, templates, platforms, training. Add people or capital to the multiplicative lever, not to one-off effort. Measure output per unit of input; when it improves as you scale, you’re multiplying. Avoid scaling additive work; find and scale the multipliers first.
